Possible Dates

We have been looking at a couple dates in November 2008 for our wedding day. We are hoping for the 1st but it may be held on the 22nd. These are both Saturdays. We are waiting to hear back from the Firefighter's Lake Club in Springfield to see if they will move Trivia Night to another date. If they are willing, it will be held on the 1st. If they are not, it will most likely be held on the 22nd.
I was told we could not have the wedding on the 15th or the 29th beacuse of shotgun season (go figure)! But I'm sure one of these dates will be just fine.
Keep Novemeber 1st and 22nd open for now and be expecting to see a Save-the-Date in the mail!

The Engagement!

Jeremy and I are finally engaged! It happened about four o'clock Christmas Eve, 2007.
I was out shopping with my mom, trying to find something to give Jeremy. The only idea he had given me was a winch for his four-wheeler. While I was stressing, trying to find the perfect gift, I thought he was at home sitting on his butt, putting off doing the dishes, for yet, another week. I was so wrong.
From what I understand, he was running around Springfield trying to get a ring for me that was supposed to be delivered overnight, but took five days instead! I was wondering why Jeremy kept calling me (6 times in about three hours) and asking where I was. It was very hectic for both of our families, which everyone knew about this weeks in advance and I had no idea that anything was going on.
When I fianlly remembered Jeremy had mentioned he would like to have a GPS system for his truck, I couldn't find any that were in stock anywhere in the mall. So my mom and I booked it to Best Buy, where I finally found one I thought he might like. We were running short on time (so I thought) and I was stressing bad.
I thought I was running short on time and Jeremy wanted to just give each other our presents without wrapping them. So when I was almost to Edinburg, he called and asked where I was. I wanted his presents to be wrapped when he opened them so I told him we were just leaving Springfield and I would be home in an hour and a half.
My mom and I got to Aunt Debbie's and I wrapped his presents quickly. My mom took me home and helped me (okay, practically THREW me and my stuff) in the house. When I turned around she was gone! I thought.....weird.
Jeremy was ready to open presents as soon as I got home. I thought it was weird that he wanted me to open mine first. I was also excited about what I got him so I wanted him to go first. He finally told me to sit in the chair and gave me my gift. It was a big box and I had an idea of what it might be but I wasn't sure because Jeremy told me that he was unable to get it.
I opened my gift and inside was a small, black Dooney & Bourke purse that I told him I wanted. That was what he told me he couldn't get. I was so surprised! When I started to put it down, he asked if the people at the store should have taken out the paper. I looked at him weird and told him I didn't know, it's not that big of a deal. Then he asked me if the purse had any pockets on the inside. I said, "Probably, why?" He told me to look inside and just see.
I was kind of irritated because I didn't know what this was leading to. When I started pulling out the stuffing, a tiny black box fell out. My first thought was that it was probably earrings inside. When I opened the box, there was the engagement ring that I had been looking at for months now. He got down on his knees and hugged me. I was crying because I couldn't believe that he actually did it! And there has been so much going on in our lives with him getting on the Granite City Fire Dept. I was so happy. When I was crying, he finally said, "I guess this means yes?"
After making the rounds at my Grandpa Ostermeier's house, we headed into town to Aunt Debbie's house where my mom's side of the family was nervously waiting along with Jeremy's parents. I walked in the house and everybody literally stopped in their tracks. At that point I knew that they knew and I turned and showed everyone my new purse. Then I finally showed them my ring. I could hear them all sigh in relief after everything that ring has been through!
As of this time, Jeremy and I have not set a date. We are talking about a Novemeber 2008 wedding. Keep the month open. We want everybody there!
